A Game-Changer

Blanco Gran Reserva Olagar

First vintage was produced in 2013.

It was released to the market when it was already reaching maturity at 8 years old.

The grapes used to make this wine come from a single vineyard, Olagar, planted in 1978 with Viura.

This wine is made with 100% Viura variety grapes.

Fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, where the wine remains for around 10 months of ageing.

The lees are worked by manually turning the barrels, a system that is used by the winery itself and replaces the traditional bâtonnage.

This world-class Viura white comes from the Olagar vineyard at 620 metres in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and deserves comparison with a top Grand Cru white Burgundy, such is its intensity, complexity and ageing potential. Fermented in new French barrels, it's waxy, rich and layered, with flavours of aromatic spices, lemon butter and vanilla oak and thrilling minerality, freshness and palate length. 2022-28 Tim Atkin, 2022

WINE PRODUCTION

Harvesting is done manually, in 12 kg boxes, which are stored at a controlled temperature in specially designed cold rooms for a period of 24 hours at 4-6 Cº. The grapes are then manually selected on the sorting table.

The wine is made with unpressed flower must extracted through a rotor tank. Fermentation takes place in new barrels of French oak, where the wine remains for about 10 months of aging.

The lees are worked by manually turning the barrels, a system that is used by the winery itself and replaces the traditional bâtonnage.
